Practicing gratitude has changed my life. This week I'm going to share with you an exercise I do to practice gratitude, to up-level my spirit, and help you to understand that gratitude is the energy that flows through your body, that helps to pick up your mood, make you feel better, and attract better energy, things, people into your life.
Let’s get started.
Get into a comfortable position, seated, lying down, whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Close your eyes.
Think about a few things that you are grateful for.
Think about some more things that you're grateful for. The little things, small things.
Go a bit deeper.
Think about why you are grateful for those things.
Think about how they make you feel.
Keep your eyes closed and focus on the positive feelings for a few minutes.
Now open your eyes.
How do you feel? Does your body feel a little different? Do you feel a little happier? Is your mood picked up just a bit? Take note of how your body feels during this process. You can't be grateful, angry, and sad at the same time. Practicing gratitude in this way, slowly with yourself, and then paying attention to how it feels in your body. The more you practice gratitude, the more your body will create space for positive feelings and want these feelings too. This is a tool that you can practice any time, all the time, every day. And you will be amazed at how it helps to change your life for the better.
